SHARON WILBERT DONATES A UV SAFE DRINKNG WATER PURIFICATION SYSTEM
Sharon Wilbert one of our long term partners at Christ our Vision child care donated a Safe drinking water purification system that uses UV filtration.
This water purification system ensures that bacteria, Undesirable chemicals, Viruses, Sediments, gases and biological contaminants are removed from water making it safe from drinking through UV filtration. Filtration is so vital in eradicating water borne diseases like typhoid, Cholera and giardiasis leading to serious conditions like vomiting, fever, dehydration, diarrhea, Hepatitis, worm infections, scabies, amebiasis and gastroenteritis among others.
A UV filtration is a three is commonly used in schools to filter large amounts of water by using an activated carbon for taste/odor and uses UV light to kill micro organisms.
Boiling large amounts of water for over three hundred children for both of the children in the orphanage and those at school was hectic and literally impossible. we didn’t have enough storage containers to store boiled water for all the children so often children could sneak and take un boiled water. The management would spend resources on medication because children often fell sick due to consumption of contaminated water.
Christ our Vision Childcare is grateful that when it presented the to install a Safe Drinking water system to Sharon Wilbert on her visit in 2024, Sharon embraced the idea since she is a retired nurse and she was well conversant with effects of drinking contaminated water. When she went back to her home country America, She asked management to look for a reputable company in Uganda that installs Water purification systems which the project manager did and sent her the quotation. After a few weeks, Sharon sent money for the Safe Drinking Water Purification System to save children from taking contaminated water.
Christ Our Vision Child care is happy to write that the Safe Water Purification was installed at Father’s Children Nursery and primary school. The water systems is eco friendly to the environment because it uses UV and its cost effective.
Thank you so much mama Sharon, The children are currently enjoying purified water with an improved taste and odor free from harmful contaminants and bacteria, protecting children to stay healthy, hydrated, Improved digestion and detoxification and their lives is reduced to risks of illness.
Together we can empower lives of vulnerable children, The opportunity of supporting Orphans and Vulnerable Children is still open. We still have need in different projects; Construction of a permanent school block, Child Sponsorship, Feeding the children, Games ang sports, Community support, Skilling and Maintenance.
Volunteering programme is also still open to whoever wishes to volunteer with Christ Our Vision Child care.
