THE FIRST SPONSORED NEEDY CHILD GRADUATES WITH A BACHELORS DEGREE!

Simon Peter Bugala, the first bachelors degree graduate brought joy to CHRIST OUR VISION CHILDCARE when he pursued a bachelors degree of Arts with Education from Kyambogo University.

Simon Peter Bugala was born on August,19th 1997 and he is the seventh born in the family of twelve children. When his father Kato Kizito Wilberforce passed away in 1998, Simon was just a year old, leaving his mother Nakamba Jesca to raise seven children on her own. Despite working tirelessly in other people’s gardens to fund her children’s education, making ends meet was a constant struggle.
A turning point came in 2007 when Simon, then in primary two, was connected to Christ Our Vision Community Church to further his education. The ministry became his beacon of hope, covering his school fees and educational materials. His fortune further improved in 2009 when he transferred to Father’s Children Primary School, run by the same church. There, he not only excelled academically but also grew spiritually.
Life tested Simon’s resilience in 2010 when a severe illness nearly claimed his life, but through prayers and support from his schoolmates, he recovered and pressed on. His determination bore fruit in 2012 when, as one of only two pioneer students, he emerged top of his class with 11 aggregates in his Primary Leaving Examinations, sparking joyous celebrations throughout the community.
Simon’s academic journey continued at Nakanyonyi Secondary School, a government aided school under Anglican church foundation in Nakifuma Naggalama town council to pursue higher education. Despite financial challenges that delayed his university entrance by a year, he was eventually admitted to Kyambogo University in 2020. Showing remarkable entrepreneurial spirit, he supported himself through small ventures like data reselling and selling candies while studying.
His perseverance culminated in earning a second class upper honors degree in Bachelor of Arts with Education, specializing in Religious Studies and Economics graduating on December,11th,  2024.

Christ Our Vision Childcare was so excited of Simon’s milestone of resilience and hard work and therefore threw a party for him which included matching on a brass band in the community, entertainment, food and speeches on January,18th 2025 to inspire more sponsored children to work hard and excel. Simon’s graduation party was successful, the chief guest was the area member of parliament for Nakifuma County Hon Fred Ssimbwa Kaggwa accompanied by Hon Nassazi Martha (District Woman Councilor for Nakifuma Naggalama Town council), Hon Esther MIREMBE (Deputy Mayor, Nakifuma Naggalama Town council), Hon Kyeswa Nicholas (Area councilor Naggalama A, Hon Nansubuga Ruth (Woman councilor Nakanyonyi ward) among many other special guests in the community and town council at large.

Simon’s success story is a testimony to the power of community support, from his hardworking mother and sister Grace to the Christ Our Vision Child Care ministry, Prime Uganda Safaris and Tours, and countless others who believed in his potential.

Today, Simon serves as a Reservations Officer at Prime Uganda Safaris and Tours, while also qualified as a professional secondary school teacher. His journey exemplifies how determination, and the support of a caring community can transform lives and create pathways to success despite the most challenging circumstances. Through his role at Prime Uganda Safaris and Tours, he continues to build on his success story while contributing to Uganda’s tourism sector.”
